Dr. Esther Munyiri is Director of the Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre – Eastern Africa (GTRCMC-EA) at Kenyatta University, where she leads research, policy, and capacity-building to strengthen resilience in tourism. Under her leadership, the Centre received the Global Tourism Resilience Award (2024). Named among the Top 100 Women in Travel and Tourism in Africa (2022), she is also recognized by iChange Nations for Excellence in Action. With academic expertise in climate change, crisis management, and sustainable tourism, and experience spanning Africa and Europe, Dr. Munyiri is a leading advocate for resilient, inclusive, and innovative tourism.
